America First Insurance™ Appoints Cornell to Finance VP

Richardson, Texas - July 13, 2010
America First Insurance, a Liberty Mutual Agency Markets regional company, today announced the appointment of Mr. Thornton Cornell to vice president, Finance.

In this position, Mr. Cornell will direct the annual business planning process, oversee month-to-month financial reporting and analysis, and develop strategies for expense management. He will be based in the company’s home office in Richardson.

Mr. Cornell has eighteen years of financial and operational experience in the property and casualty insurance industry. He joined America First Insurance in 2007, serving as its financial analysis manager. Cornell also managed the transition team for the company following Liberty Mutual’s acquisition of Safeco Corporation in September 2008. 

“Thornton has been an integral contributor to America First’s success in recent years,” said Philip Broughton, president and chief executive officer, America First Insurance. “His breadth of experience and familiarity with our operations and project management requirements will fulfill a key role on our senior management team.”

Thornton Cornell earned a B.A. in Economics from the University of California, Santa Barbara. He has also served as a Captain in the United States Army Reserve.
